Brandon Townsend – Wednesday Night Adult Rock Class
I began playing guitar at the young age of twelve, but I began hearing the music long before then. Enthralled by the records in my father’s collection, the dedication to learning and growing as a player became as much a part of me as my soul. Since then, I have made it a point to keep music in the forefront of my life. Even during my time in the United States Air Force, I played in bands on bases internationally and wrote music with my fellow airmen.
I began playing the club scene at age sixteen; however, in Charleston, South Carolina, I found my groove playing six nights a week in a popular party band on lead electric guitar. Also while in Charleston, I engaged in original composition on acoustic guitar. Now, here in Asheville, I play regularly as lead guitarist for the Star 104.3 House Band, Crocodile Smile, and popular band, Grand Theft Audio, both under Sound Extreme Entertainment. Through this company, I am also booked to play weddings and corporate events playing electric guitar, acoustic guitar or providing sound technician services.
My style was born as a love for the music of Jimi Hendrix. Luckily, due to this, I have learned that musical potential is limitless once discovered. I keep this in mind during my daily practice, and I pride myself on my humble yet eager approach to new genres. You will see this transfer to my teaching approach. Your lesson will be tailored to your needs not only as a musician but as a person. It is my personal goal that each student will leave not only with growth in their musical knowledge but also in their musical love.
